Illegal wildlife trading in the poles
The illegal wildlife trade is one of the most lucrative businesses, and it is one of the less penalized, that’s the reason why the illegal wildlife trade is always increasing. There are reasons as why some governments doesn’t care or spend time working a lot in the illegal trade is because there are a lot more problems to solve, for example the drug trafficking. We are overlooking the wildlife trade, and that’s something that has to change, because it is bigger than what we have thought.
The wildlife trade is a problem that affects the entire world; there is not a country that hasn’t been affected by this problem, it could be affected directly or indirectly. This problem goes from west to east, from south to north. There are references and talked on this project, explanations of problems have been identified at the Arctic and the Antarctic with the illegal trade of wild life.

However illegal fishing at the Arctic is decreasing and it still a big problem for some seas for example the Barents Sea.The illegal fishing has become a problem for the entire world because it represents now the 25% of the fishing from the world (iuu report) 2 that’s why for some reasons people whose catch and kill them or sell them, so can we identify two problems at the moment they are have being caused by those people it is as the economic and the environmental. The fishing in the arctic is not only an economic problem; it also is an environmental problem, because the ecosystems from the arctic nowadays are more susceptible because of the weather change.

ILLEGAL FISHING IN THE ARTIC OCEAN
The arctic ocean is located in the northern hemisphere and is the smallest of the worlds five oceanic division, it is almost completely surrounded by Eurasia and north America, covering an area of about 14,056,000 km2 where are land masses of Eurasia, North America, Greenland, and by several islands(the Arctic ocean)8 . This zone is rich in marine animals such as wheals, sharks and a variety of fishes. That is the reason why there are huge amount illegal fishing, prospering where governance is weak and where countries fail in their international responsibility. IIU fishing is a global concern, costing nations between $10 and $23.5 per year (illegal fishing) 9. Just between the Barents Sea and the Russian far eastern account between 20 and 25% of the global catch of whitefish (WWF) 10. Where are really famous the “Cod fishery” and the “Alaska Pollock fishery”. This affects the fishing industry and represents the biggest loss of revenue in all of the poorest countries and the ones that depend on fishing to survive, because it’s becoming an international criminal activity. Annual catches from 2000 to 2009 have average 2.9 billion pound of “Alaska Pollock fishery”, from 2003 through 2008 about 28 pound of other species where caught for each metric ton (2,205 pounds) of Pollock(national oceanic and atmospheric administration) 11 (fish watch) 12. The catch of those species are generally between 1% and 2% of the total “Alaskan Pollock” catch (fish watch) 13. All the fish is transported from the Barents Sea to all around Europe and part of Africa. The major ports are:
- Tórshavn of the Faroe Islands,
- Bremerhaven of Germany,
- Tema of Ghana,
- Agadir Casablanca of Morocco,
- Eeemshaven velsen of Netherlands,Lagos of Nigeria,
- Kirkenes tromso of Norway,
- Aveiro of Portugal,
- Arkhangelsk Murmansk of Russia,
- Dakar of Senegal,
- Las palmas Marín Vigo of Spain
- Grimsby of UK.
These ports are also use by vessels carrying illegal fish. (Image) 14 There is also a huge demand for caviar and salmon, each of the five Caspian sea countries, including Russia, have a specific quota of caviar stipulating the quantity allowed to be exported but the poachers are not satisfied with that amount, so they are practicing illegal fishing, it is estimated that more than 100,000 tones of salmon are poached in Kamchatka every year (RT)15(RT)16. This region is home to a quarter of all pacific wild salmon (RT) 17. This is caused because a lot of countries want to have those products and they prefer to avoid taxes to get what they want. Italian police have impounded an amount of black caviar (160 kg) worth around €1 million (RT) 18. According to investigators, the caviar had been brought into the country from Russia and Ukraine. Russia’s far east police found took a big catch that was four and a half tons of fish transported in a large truck, in 2007(Prime time Russia)19 . This is of special concern in the Arctic not only because the economic aspects and the importance of the fishing, but also Arctic ecosystem that are really sensitive within the climates change that are affecting animals from a tiny zooplankton to whales and polar bears. POLAR BEARS.

This animal problem at the Arctic is the hunting of them, there are 20 thousand polar bears, and annually over 200 polar bears are hunted just in Russia. They are looking for the skin of a polar bear which can cost over 4000 Euros (anele) 3(anele) 4. A difference between the illegal fishing and the hunting of the polar bear is that the hunting of the polar bear is increasing. The skin has the highest demand on the internet, and that’s why the hunting is increasing (anele) 5, one of the most easiest and popular way to sell them. Our idea explain you the reality of our world, people who can live at your own town, they could be anyway, but they would be always identified as people not as humans, humans have feelings and is sad how normal people can compare selling bear skins as they were a kind of shoes or a pants you want to wear the next day, or just a decoration for your big collection of animals just to show everyone that yes you are who has the money.
Have anyone whose responsible confronts though before or after they kill the bar about his family? His community? Environment? No I am sure isn’t like that, we can’t ever try to make a change in this world because is huge, although being careful showing for this work the reasons and conclusions at the end have found, we can pretend would be some interesting people whose care about the natural environment and their living animals.

WHALES
![Picture](/uploads/5/0/1/7/5017871/7635691.jpg)
In the last 26 years 30000 whales have been killed, for example in the Antarctic the population of blue whales decreases to less than 1% of its total population(green peacew)6. The price of 2 pounds of whale meat can cost 11 Euros. (aaragorn)7
The illegal trade of wildlife is a problem that affects us and it is something that we can not overlook. If you think that it will just affect the people who live in the Arctic you have to stop and realize the importance of the reality, because if one specie get affected the entire environment would be broken, from tiny zoo planktons to bowhead whales. If we stop hunting now would be necessary more than 50 years to get the specie recuperated.
